From age 3 upwards: learning to ride and to look after a horse, outdoors and safely.
Their first four-legged friend is a horse
At El Vachero Riding Centre children can start riding from the age of 3. It’s not just about sitting in the saddle: they learn to get to know the horse, to groom it, to understand how it moves and how it communicates. It’s a lesson in responsibility as well as a sport.
Lessons are led by ACSI-certified instructors who are used to working with young children, with patience and close attention to safety.
What children learn
- Approaching horses with respect and without fear
- Caring for it: grooming, tacking up, attention to its wellbeing
- Balance, coordination and posture in the saddle
- The paces and, for older children, their first jumps
- Being part of a group in the fresh air, in the green of the Parco del Brembo
A family atmosphere
While the children are in the arena, parents can wait in the heated clubhouse. As Luca, one of our 12-year-old pupils, puts it: “It feels like being in a big family, and every lesson is great fun!”
